The Savoy announces partnership with EOne Films to celebrate release of new film Stan & Ollie, in cinemas January 11

The Savoy is to be the exclusive hotel partner for the UK release of feature film Stan & Ollie, starring Steve Coogan & John C. Reilly.

Featured as the Closing Gala at this year’s BFI London Film Festival with its World Premiere, Stan & Ollie tells the untold story of Hollywood’s most famous comedic duo, Laurel and Hardy, who were also regular guests of The Savoy. Directed by Jon S. Baird, the film tells a heart-warming story of the double act’s journey around the UK & Northern Ireland, and what would become the duo’s farewell tour. Despite the pressure of a hectic schedule and with the support of their wives Lucille (Shirley Henderson) and Ida (Nina Arianda) – a formidable double act in their own right – the pair’s love of performing, as well as love for each other, endures as they secure their place in the hearts of their adoring public.

To celebrate the partnership, The Savoy launches the Suite Life of Stan & Ollie Experience, an overnight stay with Savoy breakfast, Stan & Ollie cocktails in the American Bar, and tickets to see Stan & Ollie in a West End cinema. Head Bartender of the American Bar, Maxim Schulte, has created two cocktails paying tribute to the iconic pair, who famously attempted to make their way through the entire Savoy Cocktail Book. The Stan is a lighter cocktail that draws inspiration from his good hearted persona, and The Ollie, a more robust cocktail encompassing Ollie’s strong personality and dedication to Stan.

The Savoy is no stranger to the camera, having first been featured on the big screen in Kipps back in 1941. To this day, the London landmark has been showcased in films such as Notting Hill (1999), Bright Young Things (2003), Made of Honor (2008), and All the Money in the World (2017) among many others. Today, The Savoy continues to showcase its cinematic charm with its starring role in Stan & Ollie.
